We started out as a place where high schoolers could submit art and research to a journal. That was cool, but we’ve moved on—Lodestar Open Archives is dedicated to a new goal. We believe that everyone, regardless of where they come from, who they are, and what they've lived, can provide interesting perspectives that we want to share with the world. And these stories come in all sorts of mediums: anything you can create, we’re interested in.

Art isn’t just visual thought– it’s an expression of humanity in its most raw and unfiltered form. To us, there is no “bad art”—who says you can’t make words up? Make music from the sounds of water? Splatter paint on a canvas? To us, what matters is intention and emotion–  if you have any of those things, we want to know about it.
